My first experience with a Blog

Hello, I am moving cautiously along - hope I have done this correctly --- but will find out and change what needs to be changed.  Depending on where this goes, this could be fun.  I have NOT been asked for a Password - perhaps it is the Password for my new GMail Account - I did create a GMail Account as I seemed not to be able to Create a Blog with my Hotmail Account.  Will figure this all out by and by - no doubt !!!

  1. P.S. This is a continuation of the message from Nandita Peebles - I would rate my current knowledge of Web 2.0 and its applications as 2 on a scale of 1 - 10 - one up for doing the registration, hopefully correctly.

  2. Hi Nandita, I am happy to help although my expertise may run its course pretty darn quickly...I am super comfortable with computers and with many of the things we will be doing but as a user in the case of Web 2.0 not as a builder by any means...having said that you are good to go as far as the password goes...that is for google mail and it is what Betty has asked us to use I am assuming because it is just easier or more straight forward than other ways in....neat to hear that you are a social worker and will look forward to chatting about that as well.....good luck and take care, eunice

  3. Hi again...on your dashboard page if you look in the bottom the top left hand corner / side of the page depending you will see a spot where you can update your profile ...this includes uploading a picture...from your files or from the internet as well I guess.....if you are logging on at the library the Betty Blogger person or the staff there will be able to help you too if you get stuck....good luck, roses will be very easy to find in Google images.. all the best , eunice

  4. I think we are all taking baby steps with these new programs and chances are we will look back in a few weeks (months, years?)and wonder what all the worry was about. I think the Drop Ins are a real gift.If you enjoy walking there are lots of great trails in the Burlington area. The Bruce Trail is a good way to get started. Good trails. Friendly people. You might even end up on one of the hikes I lead!

  5. Looks like there is already a conversation happening here. I just started seriously walking the Bruce Trail last year. Where do find out about led hikes?

  6. Hello Shelley,

I tried to send you a message on your blog, but couldn't figure out where the option to send you a message was. Will find out from you when we meet at 2 for the Drop In. The Blogs in Plain English was great. Thanks - and yes I would give you a 9.9 leaving a little room to "grow". Re. Bruce Trails the expert is HikinGram - will let her know that you are interested.

    Thanks again - Nandita
