Here are my comments on Betty Blogger 2011 :
1. I would rate myself at 5 - I had started at the bottom of the scale, so this is progress. The low rating relates to my lack of experience and therefore familiarity with the applications. Will progress upwards as more experience is gained.
2. Not being exposed to Social Networking at all in the past, I had hoped that this program would fill in the blanks. I would say it did, even though it was quite frustrating at times.
3. Because of the speed at which Social Networking has progressed, the most challenging part was overcoming errors in the instructions (due to changes since the program was developed) to complete tasks. The program needs to be updated prior to presentation.
4. The self directed model would work if it was totally accurate - the Drop Ins filled the gaps for me.
5. Yes, I would recommend this program to a friend as it does introduce one to several aspects of Social Networking rather well.

Library Thing
http://www.librarything.com/catalog/NanditaPeebles
This is an interesting facility, which I will likely use again. However, I manually added all my titles - will find out at the Drop In how I could have done it with a click on the book.
Will be seeing you in an hour.

RSS FEEDS
Hello,
The two RSS feeds I have subscribed to are :
1. First30Days
2. Project Foodie - Not your Mother's Slow cooker recipes for two.
Yes, it seemed that Google Reader was very easy to use and I will continue to use it.
Will be doing a "revise" of all the Social Networks we have been exposed to to refresh my memory on them!!
Thanks - Nandita Peebles

Potluck Picnic
Hello Shelley and Heather,
First of all CONGRATULATIONS to Heather and her husband, on their wedding this week. All the Very Best to both of you.
As posted on the Betty Blogger wiki - I will bring yummy Chocolate Chip Cookies for the picnic. The Wiki experience was easy - once I figured out that the Comment Box was right at the bottom of the page, and not where the question re. potluck contribution is mentioned!!! I have been exposed to so many different Social Network opportunities through Betty Blogger that at this stage I am not sure if I will require my own wiki - but if I did, how would I go about having one ? Is the access I have now exclusive to the BPL's Betty Blogger Program ? Do let me know.
P.S. How does one use the Label Box below ?
Thanks - Nandita Peebles

Google Document - A Great Food Experience
A great food experience :
Hot off the press - just returned from a beautiful Crab Curry Dinner Experience in Vancouver.
The scene there is a group of ladies meet once a month for the best Crab Curry Dinner imaginable. They all attend this “Event” armed with their Aprons, and once the Crabs are on the table there is almost pin drop silence - other than the cracks of shells and the slurps. Absolutely superb experience.
When I knew that I was visiting Vancouver I promptly provided the Ladies in question my dates in Vancouver and they fit me in. It is always one of the great highlights of a visit there. Each lady has her own Secret Recipe !!!

PICASA
Hello Shelley and Heather - I have sent you by email a picture by Brian White. It had no tag, other than his name, as far as I could see, but if I were tagging it I would call it - Peaceful !!!
I am not sure if I would use Picasa in the future - it was good to see the beautiful pictures there but there does not seem to be much confidentiality, when sharing. One has the opportunity to "Share" but not "Save" ? Most pictures seem to have a Copyright - would sharing them be enfringing on the copyright - quite confusing and potentially problematic ?
See you at the Drop In.

SOCIAL NETWORKS
Hello Shelly and Heather,
Sorry I missed the Drop In this morning - but I have all the others marked up on my calendar and will make sure I attend, as I do have outstanding issues. Though I looked at Social Networks while I was in Vancouver at that time I just couldn't get into it. Luckily today I have done much better, so in response to your queries on Social Networks, I hadn't thought I would but it seems that I will find Twitter rather interesting and informative. My concern had been folks having access to my personal information, but it appears that that will not be a problem. Will continue to access Twitter after the Betty Blogger program !!! My twitter account is called NanditaPeebles, and I have chosen to follow the Burlington Public Library and posted a Tweet to them, one of Carrier Fisher whose show I saw today, and read with great interest the information available on Mental Health issues - particularly Depresssion.
When I attend the next Drop In, I need to brush up on the previous week(s) assignments - though completed I'm not too comfortable with the steps involved.
Thanks - Nandita Peebles
